Welcome! I have a relational approach to therapy. I value the therapeutic power of the relationship between therapist and individual or couple and in my practice nurturing this relationship comes first.
Honoring my clients is foundational. I have been described as warm, authentic, loyal, down to earth, and someone safe with whom to disclose deeper feelings. I attempt from the first session to hone in on my clients’ strengths, listen deeply with genuine compassion, and hold my clients’ story with value and reverence. I seek to facilitate the therapy office as a place where the inner self and wisdom of the client can safely emerge.
My approach draws from diverse modalities which are uniquely tailored to each client. With both couples and individuals, I address the practical aspect of the concerns as well as uncovering the deeper root for healing and sustained change. Additionally, I am attuned to the impact of socially imposed messages and systems on mental health and wellbeing.
I am LGBTQ-affirming and work with issues such as: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse, Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, family of origin, person-centered therapy, marginalization, emerging adult concerns, creating meaning, employment/career issues, spiritual concerns, mindfulness, self-esteem, trauma, life transitions and beyond.
